SORAMITSU shortlisted in Global Central Bank Digital Currency Challenge
MAS Announces 15 finalists for the Global CBDC Challenge; over 300 submissions from 50 countries received, and Soramitsu is shortlisted
Singapore, 30 August 2021 … The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) announced today the 15 finalists for the global competition to develop retail Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) solutions (Global CBDC Challenge). The finalists, comprising financial institutions, FinTechs and technology solution providers, will progress to the Acceleration Phase of the Global CBDC Challenge, before they pitch their solutions to a panel of judges and an international audience at this year’s Singapore FinTech Festival [1] .

Conjointly with the IMF and other global stakeholders, the Monetary Authority of Singapore will hold a competition to develop pathbreaking central bank digital currency applications. A SORAMITSU financial inclusion solution was selected out of over 300 proposals, and will be premiered at the Singapore FinTech Festival.
